First Two Weeks of School

The first two weeks of school have gone really well at Three Trails Elementary. Students and staff are working on their curricula. The first Three Trails PTA meeting was Thursday night, August 21st and many interest families came out to show their support and get involved.

Meeting topics included:

  • Reflections Program, the national PTA’s arts program
  • Annual Fall Scholastic Book Fair, coming Sept 2-8
  • Back to School Picnic, coming Sept 5
  • Increasing membership and increasing parent and teacher involvement
  • Committee Sign-Ups and committee meeting dates
  • Approval of the year’s budget

Don’t hesitate to contact an officer if you want to get involved or have questions. For a list of this year’s officers, visit our Contact page.

Back to School Picnic Sept 5 with Drum Safari

Join us September 5th from 5pm to 7pm for our Back to School Picnic! After visiting your child’s classrooms, head out back and be treated to an outdoor hot dog picnic with special musical guests Drum Safari. Our annual Fall Book Fair will be going on in the gym at the same time, so don’t forget to stop by and pick up some books.

Three Trails PTA Family Passports

This year, Three Trails PTA is adding a reward program for families’ efforts at the school. Every time a parent or grandparent or other special family member attends an activity at the Three Trails building, a rubber stamp on their family passport will be available. After collecting ten of these stamps through the school year, a family can drop it into a special drawing for some amazing prizes.

A big screen TV will be the grand prize, family season passes to the KC Zoo will be some smaller prizes, and there will be many more added.

Having a connection with the kids’ school is not just fun and helpful for them, it can be rewarding for everyone at the end of the school year! Pick your passport up at the next school event, or contact president@threetrailspta.org.
